Call It App-volution or App-nia

This is something that I wrote for our official women's newsletter. Have a look and comment!!
Call It App-volution or App-nia
Today we all carry smart phones wherein games, communication, shopping and banking apps are widely used. Why not make your smart phones, smarter (as quoted in popular advertisement). No, I am not hinting towards another shopping or banking app. Here’s introducing my list of 5 Must have Apps for Everyone. Let’s take a quick tour of it.
  1. The Food App: Come on !! Food is the basic necessity; you got to have an app for it. So pick your choice of app for preparing food; my personal favorite Tarla Dalal app and VahRehVah app (friend’s recommendation for all rice recipes). If you don’t want to cook, simply get a food ordering app: Food Panda, Tasty Khana or find out if your favorite restaurant or outlet has its own app it may come handy.
  2. The Health Meter App: Talking of food, you need something to keep you in check. That’s when the Health Meter App comes into picture: Calorie Counter, My weight Tracker etc. Also the importance of being hydrated is well known so, get yourself a “Water Your Body” App. Specially for females, there is “My Calendar” app that helps you track menstruation cycle and many more features inbuilt , so go explore. Also for married couples planning for a baby, might find “Get Baby” App useful.
  3. Recharge and Much more Apps: Since we all are addicted to mobiles the recharge or bill payments are a must. No worries cause we have a range of apps which will not only do the needful for you but will also give you some amazing cash back or card payment offers. Recommended Apps: MobiKwik, Paytm etc.
  4. The List App: There always something you need to buy or do. So get the “Shopping List” app for your daily shopping or monthly grocery shopping. This can be used in conjunction with Bar code Scanner- Voila! What else can you ask for? If grocery or daily shopping is not what you do, get a “ToDo” app to prioritize your list of tasks for the day.
  5.  Money Tracker App: We all know the importance of keeping daily accounts but it is kind of boring to write it down in a small dairy every single day. So get an app which you can use to update your daily expenses while traveling back home. Plus the best part is, it comes with a security lock so your expenses and income calculations are safe and restricted only for you to view. Recommended App: Daily Expenses.
While there are many more apps with a lot of categories such as options for music, fun (Dubsmash),  entertainment (BookmyShow) and  etc., I would recommend these to you.

Go find the App that best suits YOU.

One more qualifier test content - Travel

Travel

Travel, the word itself has motion to it. It sets the heart racing with the very thought of all the experiences laid out ahead. From beginning till end, travel is interesting!
Although, travel is not always synonymous to vacation, I personally enjoy every bit of it right from the everyday rickshaw ride to the breathtaking 45 minutes of paragliding experience. In between there are all sorts of travels – business, family picnic, weekend getaways, just friends impromptu trips, the special honeymoon travels etc.
Travel has become easy these days unlike the olden days where there was lack of commuting facilities. More than easy, the journey has become fun; ever remember your first train long distance travel, first flight, ferry, yacht and the ride on your first bike.
Although it’s best to ride in your car and there is always a craze to drive on your bike for the longest possible distance, I personally like to take public transport. I am amazed by the variety of people you will meet, it’s great to interact with them and every once in a while you will get a very interesting peek into  life of someone that will teach you so  much; the best part is you don’t really have to experience it , to gain that experience.
The long distance journey by train in India is my all time favorite, it’s like a culinary treat from all over the country  - Gujarati sweet n sour food, the mouth watering south Indian food, spicy Maharashtrain food, rich and yummy north Indian food; the list is endless. If you are loner doesn’t mean you will miss all this, the roads of India are well furnished with the eateries which will engage you in the endless list of savories.
There are lot many things associated with travel which can’t be aptly penned down. I would suggest you travel consciously, you will be aghast by the amount of experience you gain with each travel. From picking the right size bag to carrying hand sanitizers you become smart at all aspects and best part is all your senses work their best while travelling.

So keep travelling and become a Pro traveler, always experiencing something different.

Job related post

Off late i have been applying for quite some creative writing assignments.
This is something I wrote for the qualifier test:

Non-materialistic gifts: The next big thing in the greeting industry

Recall your most memorable gift; is it your first ever phone or ride; or is it your proposal solitaire. While there is no match for the diamond or the first car of the life, one wants more each time to celebrate those ever occurring milestones in life or even the itsy-bitsy victories such as first kiss anniversary or that galli cricket match you won against your arch enemy.
The little ice cream parties or hangouts at favourite restaurants with friends is the best way to celebrate but can get monotonous after a while. At such times your creative friends come into play, ever saw the movie of your life, playing on the projector on the beach late at night with the breeze and bonfire to keep company. This is a kind of the gift you will never forget and someone else will never receive, coz it is customized, just for you. These are the priceless, non-materialistic gifts.
But to give or receive any such gift you no longer have to be creative you got to be just smart. Outsource the creative task to the many available industries such as the greeting industry. Initially it was a fiction tale that someone actually takes pains to get that perfect customized gift for your loved one, ever read Cecelia Ahren books but now it is actually available.
You can simply pick from the wide variety of available, or you can get one personalized for your loved ones. Get a song or a verse or poem or a simple heart felt message to greet your loved one on that special occasion.
The greeting industry is now painted bright red with the opening of the new window of non-materialistic gifts. It’s worth a try to see that awesome smile on the face of the special one.
Also it’s never too late to start a business venture coz non-materialistic gifts is the next big thing in the greeting industry.
